Course Description

This course will provide an introduction to the land surveying capabilities contained within AutoCAD Civil 3D.  We will cover the setup and configuration, project setup/customization, points and point groups, and survey and equipment databases.  Then we will explore traverse analysis and transformations.


Course Agenda

8:00 AM – 8:30 AM Installation of Datasets/Configuration

8:30 AM – 12:00 PM Introduction/Project Setup – Points – Survey and Equipment Databases

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Traverse Analysis – Transformations

Richard W. Reid Jr, PLS
Technical Consultant, Lighthouse Land Surveying, LLC

Mr. Reid presently operates his land surveying and software consulting firm, Lighthouse Land Surveying LLC, out of Taunton, MA.  He performs all facets of land surveying duties for public/private clients as well as serving as the technical consultant for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Highway Section CAD Standards and is the technical liaison for the Massachusetts State Police, C.A.R.S program.  He continues to provide the use of his various workflows, available software, established data sets, and a little bit of common sense to help all firms get the most out of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
