GPS Threatened, MALSCE Member Call to Action Still Needed - Contact your member of Congress:  The Washington Post  reports that a report delivered Friday, June 3 to the FAA but not yet publicly released says deployment of LightSquared’s new network could effectively shut down GPS devices.  Many of you have been following this issue, but we need your help with letters to your Congressman/Congresswoman.

MALSCE Has Joined the Save Our GPS Coalition: http://www.saveourgps.org/
This informative site will brief you on this complicated issue that could have a major negative impact on survey grade GPS.

View from the other side on this issue:

There appears to be distinction between the effects, technical issues and solutions for consumer grade GPS and survey grade GPS.  MALSCE members need to understand these issue better and make sure our specific industry needs continue to be addressed.  Send your letters to Congress about this important issue.
