Wentworth seeks Land Surveying Instructor, new Construction Management faculty at Wentworth, Assistant Prof:  Wentworth seeks a highly motivated individual to be lead instructor and teach undergraduate construction management students for one of the following courses:  Materials Testing and Quality Control, Construction Surveying and AutoCAD to include plan reading or Building Construction. Materials Testing and Quality Control:  The course will include laboratory testing, using ASTM procedures, for soil, concrete, and aggregate. Developing QC plans and introducing effective quality management principles are also elements of the course. Construction Surveying:  The course will include theory and techniques of vertical and horizontal measurement and their application to the building industry.  Building Construction: The course will include current materials and methods used in building construction   In addition the candidate will be expected to teach one of the following CM courses: Means and Methods, Heavy Construction Methods, Construction Project Management, Construction Finance, Scheduling, Construction Graphics or Estimating. The candidate must identify which of the three above primary courses he/she intends to teach. Master’s Degree in a related Field with 5 years field experience and the ability to become professional certified within 2 years. More than 1,200 high school students will attend the 9th Annual Massachusetts Construction Career Days (MassCCD) to learn about industry job opportunities, including the construction, engineering, surveying and environmental fields with both union and open-shop companies. The industry faces a shortage of young, qualified workers. MassCCD was created to help address this shortage and to educate high-school students about the wide range of career opportunities available in the construction industry.  At the event, students will learn how to operate backhoes, excavators, jackhammers, pavers, etc. and participate in concrete finishing, welding, cutting and burning, electrical work, carpentry, laying brick and block, surveying, field engineering and take part in other hands-on activities.
