The purpose of this training is to ensure that no highway project discharging storm water runoff to an impaired water body, is designed without incorporating measures to treat the highway’s contribution to the impairment.

This is designed for:  Project Development, Design and Environmental Practitioners who design and permit MassDOT projects

Beginning in October 2010, all MassDOT projects will need to ensure storm water compliance.  This training will provide information on identifying impaired water bodies as well as guidance for determining the most appropriate storm water BMPs. Topics also covered will include DEP's 303(d) list of Impaired Waters and a new Water Quality Data Form to be used during the design process.

MassDOT – Environmental Division Personnel will present an overview of NPDES requirements for highway projects.
