The MALSCE Education Trust offers student scholarships every year for Massachusetts residents. We annually offer two different types of scholarships:
SURVEY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP: Due February 28, 2012

A $500 scholarship awarded to students that are enrolled in a valid/accredited Land Surveying Certificate Program. The number of scholarships awarded is determined each year based upon the applications received.

An Applicant must:

Be accepted in a Survey Certificate Program in an accredited school

Be a Massachusetts resident

Have completed 3 credit hours in the Certificate Program

Submit a letter of recommendation by a qualified sponsor to the MALSCE Education Trust Chair. The sponsor must be a department head, dean, professor, or instructor who has personal knowledge of the applicant. An applicant’s employer may also be a sponsor. The Trustees will not accept a letter of recommendation from a sponsor other than the types listed above.

Submit an official school transcript(s) of all available grades.

Submit a completed application.

MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (for Bachelors or Associates Degree Students): Due July 31, 2013

A scholarship awarded to a student presently enrolled full time (days) as an undergraduate in an accredited College, University, Junior College, Technical Institute or Community College and majoring in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. Completed applications are due July 31, 2013. The MALSCE Education Trust may select one or more applicants to receive scholarships per year and currently plans to award one or two scholarships in 2013. The Trustees will determine the number of scholarships and the amounts by August 31, 2013. The MALSCE Education Trust Chair will contact winning applicants. Scholarships will be presented at MALSCE's Conference to be held in the fall of 2013. The scholarship winner(s) and his/her parents/spouse are invited to attend the luncheon as our guests; MALSCE will provide the event details.

1. An Applicant must:

Presently be enrolled full-time (days) in an accredited College, University, Junior College, Technical Institute, or Community College and majoring in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering;

Be a Massachusetts resident (based upon parents’ full time residence, if still a dependent); however, he/she may attend an out-of-state school

Complete and sign the application and give it to a qualified Sponsor, who will forward it along with his/her letter of recommendation to the MALSCE Education Trust Chair, and;

Send, or have the school where he/she is enrolled send an official transcript of all grades (including the latest Spring 2013 term) to the MALSCE Education Trust Chair. Transfer students must also forward transcripts from previous schools.
NOTE: ALL INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE MALSCE EDUCATION TRUST CHAIR NO LATER THAN July 31, 2013.
2. A Sponsor(s) must:

Be a department head, dean, professor, or instructor who has personal knowledge of the applicant. An applicant’s employer may also be a sponsor, if that employer is a MALSCE member in good standing. Friends and relatives of the applicant may not be sponsors. The Trustees will not accept a letter of recommendation from a sponsor other than the types listed above.

Forward the completed application along with his/her letter of recommendation to the MALSCE Education Trust Chair no later than July 31, 2013.
