Seminar Objectives:
Effective July 1, 2006, according to MGL Chapter 30, Section 39M, any bidder for "the construction, reconstruction, alteration, remodeling or repair of any public work" of a specific cost, must certify that all workers have successfully completed an OSHA-approved 10-hour construction safety course.
The MA Attorney General's office recently issued a policy advisory that makes it clear that design professionals employed by contractors on public construction sites need the OSHA 10-hour card. Plus, MHD is requiring this card for land surveyors conducting work on their projects.  This course fulfills the requirements for the law and registrants will receive documentation of successful completion at the end of the day - with the OSHA card to follow in the mail. This is a one-time training - the course completion card does not expire.
Topics required for the 10-Hour program include Trenching & Excavations, Confined Space Safety, Fall Prevention and Electrical Safety.  Specialized topics for this MALSCE presentation include Chain Saw & Machete Safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), High Visibility Clothing, Surveyor Specific Workzone Signage Patterns, Avoiding Collisions and more. Portions of the program will be hands-on and attendance will be limited.
