Topics for discussion:
1. Economic Stimulus money, where is it being spent and does it help the surveying profession?.
2. An update on the Mechanics Lien law making its way through the legislature and how it affects our business practice.
3. Addressing the issue of unlawful practicing of Land Surveying by Architects and others. Have you seen a plan on record by other than a land surveyor?
4. Continued outreach to educate and inform when a survey is required. Is the local building official accepting a mortgage plot plan?
5. How can MALSCE better serve its Proprietors’ Council members?
6. Offer from Eastern Topographics to match MALSCE in fundraising to help with tuition for unemployed MALSCE members. (See below)
7. Other topics of interest to the surveying profession. Do you have other topics for discussion by the Proprietors Council? Contact Paul at pjt@gainc.com
before March 20 to include on March 24, or later for future lunches.
About the Eastern Topographics offer from Wayne Kelloway, LLS, President: He is proposing to participate with MALSCE in a matching funds program. Wayne would donate up to $1000 to match funds raised by MALSCE for the purpose of defraying tuition / seminar attendance costs for unemployed MALSCE members. MALSCE would need to document the funds we raise to support this effort and the actual end use of the funds by attendees. If available funds exceed the demand generated by fully unemployed members, underemployed members may then also be considered for the program. It is important that these funds be used only to support and assist unemployed or underemployed members. Can you help us reach the $1000 goal?
