December 2025 President’s Message

Dear fellow MALSCE members and associates,

My message to you today is a call for volunteers. MALSCE relies on our membership to volunteer their time to plan events, program seminars, and advocate for our industry to local & state government leaders. Without volunteers, MALSCE cannot operate. Our MALSCE Board has volunteer openings in the Cape and Central Chapters. If you’re interested in getting more involved with MALSCE, please contact us.

As a reminder, you can renew your membership online through MALSCE’s updated website and database. If there a topic you’d be interested in MALSCE having a seminar/webinar for or see at the annual convention, please contact MALSCE with any ideas you may have, I value your input.

Upcoming events include:
1. Seventeenth Annual Legal Perspectives on Land Surveying Seminar. Don’t miss this popular seminar examining legal issues impacting the land surveying profession! This year’s seminar will feature the same insightful analysis of recent legal interpretations of surveys by Massachusetts courts and related matters that is the hallmark of this program. Attorneys from The Wagner Law Group and other notable land use practitioners will discuss topics that will enable you to create a more effective survey, which may help parties avoid litigation or prevail on disputed claims.

2. NSPS Certified Floodplain Surveyor (CFS) Training and Certification Program. CALS is hosting a session of the NSPS Certified Floodplain Surveyor (CFS) Training and Certification Program in January 2026! This popular program sold out quickly before.

3. Save the date for the MALSCE Annual Convention on March 6-7, 2026! Details to come soon!

Lastly, vote for MALSCE’s own, A. Richard Vannozzi, candidate for NSPS Vice President! Click here to listen to NSPS Executive Director Tim Burch interviewing Rich on the Surveyor Says podcast. If you did not receive a ballot by email, check your spam folder or email [email protected].

Please reach out to me at [email protected] for any questions or MALSCE related issues.

Thank you,
Paul S. Campbell, PE, PLS
