Dear Members of MALSCE,
Summer vacation-time has arrived, and we are beginning the early planning for our 2024 MALSCE Convention in March. This installment of my President’s Message will focus on our activities in preparation for next year’s convention and the successful conclusion to one of our recent undertakings.
Convention planning started with a review of feedback from this past year’s convention attendees. As always, it is our goal to consider all of the comments provided and improve the experience year-to-year. We’ve reached out to the Cape Cod Chapter, the 2024 Convention’s host chapter and are working to secure a venue. Soon, we will start considering our session speakers. Looking to dramatically increase the number of entries in our Plan and Field Notes Contest, we are already prepared to accept contest entries. We will continue to provide opportunities to grow the convention interest.
As an update on last month’s message, the Massachusetts Registrars of Deeds officially accepted our proposed revisions to plan recording requirements, which will be in effect on September 1, 2023.
As MALSCE president, I am committed to keeping you informed about our efforts to foster the development of our profession, share knowledge, and create resources that benefit us all. I hope you’ll find my monthly MALSCE News President’s Messages helpful in this regard.
Thank you,
Ken Conte, President
